Along the shores of Loch Lomond is one of my favourite places to walk in Scotland, particularly on the East side of the Loch, as you walk up past Salochy, then Rowardennan and onwards the tourists become thin and you can pretty much have the place you your self.
This picture is taken from the little harbour at the Inversnaid hotel, a good place for a bowl of soup when out walking. The hotel is a popular destination for coach trips, and while the hotel itself can be quite busy in the summer the paths to the north and south along the loch shore are nearly always quiet.
This picture was taken in May 2012 when I walked the West Highland Way “the wrong way”, ie from Fort William to Milngavie, with my Dad. The first day the weather was absolutely glorious and we both got sun burnt, though the rest of the days were more typically Scottish, like this one.
